SUHS rifle team has been representing this area for 20 years, and is one of the most competitive rifle teams in the nation.
The SUHS rifle team is made up of precision and sporter shooters in the Yuba-Sutter area. The team consists of students from Sutter Union High School and Sutter Buttes 4-H.
The team participates in many local matches as well as national matches. Many shooters have been invited to the Junior Olympics at the Olympic Training Centers. In the past many shooters have gone on to be NCAA Rifle Athletes.
The Rifle team also was the first sports team at SUHS to produce an All- American. In 2008 Andy Hickey became an All-American in both International Air Rifle and .22 Rifle.
